Organic Cacao or Carob Smoothie

Discover a deliciously chocolatey, dessert like, guilt-free smoothie. It's thick and creamy and best of all contains no refined sugar.

Serves: 1 smoothie
Ingredients
  • 2 heaped Tbsp organic cacao powder (sub Ceres organic carob powder for a sweeter smoothie)
  • 5 dates (kept in the fridge)
  • 1 heaped Tbsp full fat, chilled coconut milk (sub ¼ cup Almond Milk or replace with water for a more chocolatey tasting smoothie)
  • 1 large frozen banana (pre-chopped into pieces)
  • 5 cubes ice (optional)
  • ¼ glass water
  • A few drops vanilla essence (optional)
  • mint for serving (optional or add to the smoothie before blending)
  • Star Anise for serving (optional)
Instructions
  1. Put all of the ingredients into a high powered blender (a nutribullet is perfect) and blend until thick and smooth.
  2. Add a star anise to the glass if you want to be a little bit fancy
  3. Drink!
